Restart the browser

When you are facing an error in accessing any website then try restarting the browser. Many times, the error occurs due to the runtime error. To fix all the errors, you can simply restart the browser. Check all the taps and then close the browser. Restart it and now click on the URL. If the website is safe then it will open immediately.

Disable the firewall

If you are trying to access an unsecured website; Avast will immediately block it. The firewall inspects the URLs and blocks the unsecured ones. Accessing those websites can cause harm to your device and data. If your firewall is blocking the website then check for its security. When the site seems dangerous then don’t access it. But when you are sure that the website is safe but Avast antivirus is still blocking it then you can disable the firewall temporarily. Open your Avast dashboard and tap on protection. Go to the firewall and tap on disable. Select Enable manually option and hit on Okay button. Now go to the browser and access your website. After accessing the site, go to the firewall and enable it. Also, run a scan to remove any malware from the device. 

Use VPN

There are several websites which you can’t access from all locations. If the website is not available for your current geo-location then you can try running the VPN. Go to the Avast antivirus and enable the VPN. Set the location where the website is available. After setting the location, again try to access the website. Once the site finds the desired location, you can access it easily.

Remove another antivirus

Some users reported that Avast is blocking the website and showing error pop-ups. This issue appears when you have another security program on the computer. Multiple antiviruses can start conflicting when detecting any malware. To stop Avast popups and fix the error; remove another security program. Go to your computer and inspect all the installed security apps. People often forget to remove the expired setup from the device. Expired antivirus programs (even Avast expired setup) can cause conflict issues. Remove other security apps and the related files. Restart your computer and now access the required website easily.

 

Check the blocked websites

Using Avast antivirus, you can block several websites on the device. People often use this tool to block dangerous sites on kids’ devices. Once you add the site to the blocked list then you can’t access that site on the device. Many times users add the site to a blocked list then forget about it. If you are unable to access the website on your device then check the blocked list immediately.

  1. Open the dashboard of Avast antivirus
  2. Check the left pane and click on the Additional Protection option
  3. Click on the Site blocking option
  4. Go to the option of the Blocked website
  5. You will find the list of blocked website
  6. Click on the required site and tap on the delete button
  7. Now the website is removed from the Blocked list

For removing all the sites, select all and hit the Delete button

After removing the website from the blocked list; open the web browser and try to access it. 

Connect the device to secure internet connection 

Many sites can’t open if you are using an unsecured internet connection. Norton detects the network type and prevents the device from blocking the sites. To access those files, connect your computer to a private and secured internet connection. If you can’t find a secure connection, use Avast VPN and then access the sites.

Reinstall Avast antivirus

Your Avast antivirus may start acting strange if some of its files are not working. To fix those files, you can reinstall the Avast setup. From Apps, remove Avast antivirus and delete its files. Open the browser and redownload the setup. Install the Avast program and activate it using the key. Now your Avast antivirus will start working correctly.
